Ed Paskey named Rising Star by Law and Politics MagazineKMF is proud to announce that Edward A. Paskey, Esquire, a member of the firm, has been named a Pennsylvania Rising Star Attorney for 2005 by Law & Politics Magazine. Edward’s selection will appear in special Rising Star section published in the December 2005 edition of Philadelphia Magazine.
The selection process for Rising Stars is generated by Law & Politics Magazine, who starts the process by mailing ballots to the most recent group of Super Lawyers: the top 5 percent of attorneys in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Super Lawyers are asked to vote for the best attorneys who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years. They are instructed to vote for lawyers they have personally observed in action — whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other first-hand courtroom observation.
In addition to the general survey, the attorney-led research team reviews the credentials of potential Rising Stars and assigns points based on a set of defined evaluation criteria. The research staff also confirms that nominees are properly licensed, in good standing with the state licensing agency, and, when possible, that they have no history of disciplinary action that would warrant removal from the list.
The point totals from the general survey and research process are then added to arrive at a final tally. The lawyers are ranked by point totals and the list is cut until approximately 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in the state remain.
